I came across this James Gilstrap record today and it caught my attention by the creepy cover, I then remembered it had been sampled by Big L with his classic song Flamboyant which was released in 2000. Big L was shot right around the time the album was released and I can't think of a better rap song that has come out since then. Hip hop music took a drastic change in sound, production and the way I felt about it right around the same time... R.I.P
